Inspired by spirit houses, small devotional structures found in Thailand that provide shelter to the supernatural, this book considers how art collapses the distance between past and present. Contemporary artists reckon with the spiritual and spectral in our visual culture, question the many forms that ghosts can take challenge data-driven methods of understanding the world. Featuring previously unpublished works an essay by Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul.Also includes four ghost stories by artists included in the exhibition.
