Garrbaa - Boomerang Sterling Silver Mookaite

These earrings are light weight and depict a Garrbaa which is Wiradjuri for Boomerang, they are made of recycled sterling silver and Mookaite.  Mookaite is an Australian Jasper, Jasper stones are associated with strength, protection and grounding.

The earrings are approximately 2.5cm wide 2.5cm long from earring hoop.

Sonia is the eldest of four Children, born in Wiradjuri Country, the land of the three rivers, Dubbo NSW. My Mob is from Kooma from South West Queensland near the Cunnamulla area.

Sonia has made jewellery since early childhood with a flair for the unusual, however life gets in the way of your passions. Over the years I have been working in construction, being fortunate enough to complete a Carpentry Apprenticeship.

Sonia loves to work in sterling silver and semi-precious stones which add colour and dimension to her pieces. I am proud to have created a collection of jewellery bringing my Ancestor's storytelling symbols into a modern light with non-traditional wearable art. Most of this collection is named in Wiradjuri Language, helping everyone understand and appreciate our Culture.
