This exceptionally beautiful Geelong Gallery-curated exhibition examines the influence of Japanese woodblock prints (ukiyo-e) on the famed contemporary Australian painter and printmaker, Cressida Campbell, and on the groundbreaking modernist painter and printmaker, Margaret Preston (1875-1963). The catalogue includes full colour illustrations of works featured in the exhibition, as well as an insightful introduction to the art of Ukiyo-E prints and texts by Jason Smith and Lisa Sullivan.Additional texts include a QA with Cressida Campbell and an article written by Margaret Preston in 1930, exploring ‘wood-blocking as a craft'.
