By Sonia PallettDescription
Ngulburnan, yuriyawi “Waterhole”
Sterling Silver and Tigers Eye with Black Agate beaded Necklace
This necklace is handcrafted as is all the jewellery in this shop is made by me and I am an Aboriginal Jewellery Artist. The use of symbols is part of the story telling from our culture and I use this as part of my design in my Jewellery. Ngulburnan, yuriyawi means Waterhole in Wiradjuri Language which is where I grew up in Dubbo NSW.
The necklace is sterling silver with Black Yellow Red Agate and is aprox 48.5cm from end to end. The pendant is aprox 3cm round.
Due to natural variations in gemstones the necklace you receive may not be identical to the one pictured.
Sonia is the eldest of four Children, born in Wiradjuri Country, the land of the three rivers, Dubbo NSW. My Mob is from Kooma from South West Queensland near the Cunnamulla area.
Sonia has made jewellery since early childhood with a flair for the unusual, however life gets in the way of your passions. Over the years I have been working in construction, being fortunate enough to complete a Carpentry Apprenticeship.
Sonia loves to work in sterling silver and semi-precious stones which add colour and dimension to her pieces. I am proud to have created a collection of jewellery bringing my Ancestor's storytelling symbols into a modern light with non-traditional wearable art. Most of this collection is named in Wiradjuri Language, helping everyone understand and appreciate our Culture.
